To inform, educate and entertain listeners from the Heart of the Nez Perce Homeland
KIYE, owned and operated by the Nez Perce Tribe, began broadcasting over the Nez Perce Reservation on August 1, 2011. Our studios are located in Kamiah, Idaho, with our main transmitter near Craigmont, and booster in the Orofino area. Since March 2015 we are also broadcasting in the Lapwai area on transmitter K288EU 105.5FM. We broadcast across the reservation and far into the Nezperce Clearwater National Forest.
KIYE is a non-commercial/educational radio station, owned and operated by the Nez Perce Tribe, licensed under the Federal Communication Commission. (CPB Compliance Information)
KIYE’s focus is on developing local public affairs, news and educational features.
Our music includes local and national Pow wow, flute and other Native artists, Blues/Jazz, Oldies, Motown, Classic Rock, Grass Roots Gold Productions, and Native Voice 1.
To date we locally produce three programs:
- The Conversation with Daniel, a program focusing on amplifying Indigenous voices and advocating for Indigenous representation in media.
- At The Drum with Tommy, a program with your latest and throwback Pow Wow tunes from throughout Indian Country.
- Calling All Warriors, a program that features contemporary Native and Non-Native faith based selections, hosted by former Pastor of the First Indian Presbyterian Church and of YWAM Native Ministries.
