Lewiston, Idaho May 25, 2023 – The Lewis-Clark State College Silverthorn Theatre was filled with Tribal members, non-tribal members, cast members along with their families at the “Covenant of the Salmon People” home screening.

Kayeloni Scott led the ceremony along with Nimiipuu Drum Group Lightning Creek opening the ceremony with the Honor song. Words were shared from NPTEC Chairman Shannon Wheeler, Nakia Williamson and others who were apart of creating this film after two years of production.

“Covenant of the Salmon People” is a 60-minute documentary about the relationship between the Nimiipuu and the salmon. You will hear different Tribal elders and leaders share the importance of the salmon to Nimiipuu way of life and culture. Tribal leaders call on the Federal Government on breaching the four dams on the lower Snake River.
