Rich Johnson, KIYE Supervisor and Tom Williamson, KIYE Broadcast Tech both attended the Emergency Operations training in Pendleton, Oregon.

The training was put on by Native Public Media.

Native Public Media provides Station Emergency Operation Plan training to broadcasters across Indian Country. In this training, broadcasters are learning how to develop a customized station emergency operation plan. Melissa Begay is the lead trainer for Native Public Media’s Emergency Response Program. She specializes in emergency preparedness and planning in preventing or managing human-caused or natural disasters such as extreme weather.
